Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in the US and works as an accomplished photographer as well as a journalist. Since more than 45 years, she has concentrated on documenting the suffering of people, particularly when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry was a reporter for the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. She graduated in 1978 in 1978 from in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Her career in broadcasting began with an internship at KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. At age 22, she was the first journalist female at the station. In Portland, Oregon she was made an anchor as well as a reporter for KGW NBC's affiliate. The following year, she relocated into Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. She received the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
